Enhancing Agriculture and the Environment
Ohio's agricultural, horticultural, and forestry industries contribute more than $100 billion to the state's economy each year. The OSU Extension's Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) programs provide support in technology, marketing, and education, helping to maintain Ohio's competitive position in the global marketplace.
Additionally, OSU Extension collaborates with residents and community leaders to enhance and preserve the environment and natural areas throughout the state, striking a balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability.
Our ANR professionals assist producers in developing and expanding profitable and sustainable agricultural businesses, thereby creating jobs and economic opportunities for Ohio's citizens. They also offer leadership, collaboration, consulting, unbiased information, applied research, and access to the vast knowledge of land-grant universities to address local issues and needs.
Gallia County Agriculture and Natural Resources
Gallia County's agriculture industry offered 101,469 acres of farmland and 771 farms in 2022.
