Eligibility for Cloverbud participation begins when a child is age 5 and enrolled in kindergarten. Member eligibility for participation in 4-H projects and competitive events begins when a child is age 8 and in third grade. Any youth age 9 or above is eligible for project membership, regardless of grade level.
  • Choose from more than 200. Visit Project Central now!  Project Central is an easy way for 4-H members and project helpers to preview Ohio 4-H project books and resources. Take a closer look at a book, find out what others have to say, and share your experiences.
  • Use the 4-H Family Guide to learn about each and every one.  Cloverbud members, age 5 and in Kindergarten until age 8 and in 3rd grade participate in non-competitive activities exploring a variety of fun, hands on interest areas.

Welcome! We are so excited that you have chosen to join the Gallia County 4-H program.

THE NEW PARENT’S 4-H GUIDE IS DESIGNED TO BE “SNIPPET” OF THE INFORMATION THAT WILL BE VALUABLE TO YOU AS YOU WORK THROUGH YOUR FIRST YEAR AS A 4-H FAMILY!

In 4-H, we believe in the power of young people. Every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around them. We are America’s largest youth development organization—empowering nearly six million young people across the U.S. with the skills to lead for a lifetime. Youth involved in 4-H are 1.9 times more likely to get better grades in school, 4 times more likely to give back to their community and 2 times more likely to make healthy choices.

Please feel free to connect with your 4-H club advisors, the Gallia County Extension staff, or myself if you have additional questions! We want your first year in 4-H to be a positive experience!
