Gallia County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship Application

Eligibility: All Gallia County residents actively involved in beef industry. Must be a current high school senior or enrolled in their first year of college.
Previous scholarship winners are not eligible.

Criteria Based for Award: The Gallia County Cattlemen’s Association will utilize an outside committee to review each application. This committee will review each application and score the application based on a rubric system set forth by the board.

Applicants will be awarded points on the following:

1. Cumulative GPA 2.5 or higher

2. 4-H/FFA Involvement

3. Community Involvement

4. School Involvement

5. Essay

6. Involvement in the Cattle Industry

7. Financial Need

8. Junior Member of the Gallia County Cattlemen’s (you may submit 5.00 membership dues with your application, make checks payable to Gallia Co. Cattlemen’s).

Applicants must complete and submit this form to the OSU Extension Educator, Jeff Moore, Attention: Gallia County Cattlemen’s Board of Directors by April 6, 2020. Winners will be notified prior to your high schools graduation date. Scholarship Winners will be recognized at the Gallia County Junior Fair Steer Show on August 6, 2020. Winners will be expected to participate in the Gallia County Cattlemen’s Associations Annual Banquet to receive their scholarship award funds.

One $500.00 scholarship will be awarded with the potential of an additional scholarship being added if finances allow.
