Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp is proud to offer the 2015 Canter’s Cave Spring Fling. This is a special overnight camping opportunity for children in grades 3-6. This camping overnight is designed to get 4-H members and non-4-H members excited about the 4-H summer camping program.
Participants get to spend the night at Canter’s Cave in the Harrison Powell Lodge and take part in the many traditional camping activities that 4-H camp has to offer. The overnight begins on Friday, May 8th with check in at 6:30 PM. The evening is filled with get acquainted games, learning traditional camp line dances, a pizza party and what would camp be without ending the day with campfire?
On Saturday May 9th its rise and shine at 7:30 AM and the fun starts with a traditional flag raising ceremony, and then it’s off to breakfast! The early afternoon hours are filled with a camp scavenger hunt, hiking to one of the camps three natural caves, canoeing and paddle boating and traditional outdoor recreation games.
The overnight dismisses at 11:45 AM, which leave plenty of time for family activities on Saturday. Parents who have had children attend Spring Fling say it’s a great way to get your child ready for the four day summer 4-H camping programs offered by Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp in June. Campers who have attended love seeing their new friends when they return for the summer camp programs and often take the lead in teaching new campers songs, games and dances!
